Well Emily - I think Border Collies are cool. Our dog Penny is half Border Collie. They are incredibly smart, great sheep dogs, and at least one I have met understands Spanish (he came from Chile). They get in trouble unless they have a job. I'll post a photo of Penny soon.
Growing up we always had dogs but they were my brother's dog. Usually a terrier mix from the pound but when I was really little we had pit bulls- and one that had puppies. So we have had 14 pit bulls in my life. I know that is a controversial breed but ours were very gentle and great- we used to ride them around ;0) I am not saying B.O. should get a pit bull. Maybe something smaller
Ahhh, Emily! Pitbulls and lipstick! Maybe he should have one of those smart pet pigs. You make me laugh.
I also like the nickname "BO". Its simple and easy to say, so I think I will use it for the rest of his term.
P.S. My kids are dying for a dog, especially since we played with Marg and Kevin's dog in Oregon.
I think it is OK in some situations to use acronyms to refer to people or things, but if alternative meanings which are derogatory are the intent (e.g., Body Odor), they might be construed as mean spirited when referring to a person in a position of high responsibility. I suppose the choice of dog or pig one suggests could also have the same affect.
I believe the dog in which the choice is tough for the Obamas and has gotten so much press, is for those cute children, not for the dad. So as long as it meets the criteria of dealing with allergies.... I would let the children decide.
I think they should put the 'Under Dog' on a leash. HAHAHA JK (it means just kidding.)
Isn't BO also some sort of sports figure from about a decade back? I seem to remember a lot of commercials "BO KNOWS..."
I guess it is how you read it/pronouce it.
